Opto-isolator

The opto-isolator is made up of an LED and a photo-transistor. The LED illuminates the photo-transistor - the greater the current flowing through the LED, the greater the photo-current through the photo-transistor.

The ratio of LED current to photo-transistor current is called the current transfer ratio.

• LED forward voltage @ 10 mA: 1.3 V
• Maximum current: 50 mA
• Maximum reverse LED voltage: 6 V
• Maximum isolation voltage: 5300 V
• Maximum collector-emitter voltage: 55 V
