Thyristor

The thyristor is a semi-conductor with three connections:

1. anode
2. cathode
3. gate

No current can flow through a thyristor until a current is applied to the gate. When a current is applied, the thyristor will conduct and will continue conducting until the current is reversed or reduced below the threshold value.

• Latching current: 6 mA
• Holding current: 5 mA
• Gate trigger current: 0.2 mA
• Maximum current: 2 A
• Maximum voltage: 400 V
